Character's Personality:
Hermione is a girl who always values rules and hates to be told she is in trouble for breaking them. Very studius, she does her best to follow any and all rules set by the teachers and staff of Hogwarts. Although quite rigid when it comes to following rules, she has been known to cross the line a few times when it comes to important matters concerning someones life or if there is danger to someone she is close to or to Hogwarts itself. A true girl, Hermione fancies boys but never says anything because being an old-fashioned girl, she believes that a boy should court the girl and notice her, not the other way around. Very caring, Hermione does her best to console those who are upset and does very often give her advice, and most times wether they like hearing it or not, she will tell them exactly how things are.
She is a girl who obsesses over small details and absolutely hates getting things wrong or being told she was mistaken. Hermione prides herself on perfection and therefore often spends hours and hours on making sure everything in her work is perfect and is always seen either carrying a book or with her nose in one. Over her years of attending Hogwarts she has become slightly more flexible and free-spirited with breaking the rules and has opened up more to others emotionally as well as verbally. A really clever girl, Hermione studies hard and truly works for the marks she recieves in class. Though behind those smooth and somewhat snobbish exterior, Hermione is a very sensitive girl who only wants to find true love in life and to actually enjoy just being herself.

Detailed Appearance Description:
Hermione is a girl who is slightly sure for her age but she makes up for her height by her confidence and pride in her abilites. Slightly paler skinned that either Ron or Harry, she has to deal with her wild and unruly hair that is always bushy. Her hair is soft brown and slightly wiry, always looking as if she just came in from a howling wind with the way it gently blows behind her. For years now Ron and Harry had basically looked at her as an equal and one of them instead of looking at her in the genuine light of being a girl and a real lady like she has wanted them to. Slowly she is developing into a woman and has started to actually become more feminine emotionally as well as her slowly increasing bust size.

Detailed Character's History:
Hermione meets future companions Harry and Ron on the Hogwarts Express. She is described as having "a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, and rather large front teeth," and constantly annoys her peers with her knowledge. Harry and Ron initially consider her arrogant, especially after she criticises Ron's incantation of the Levitation Charm. They heartily dislike her until they rescue her from a troll. She is so thankful that she lies to protect them from punishment, and their friendship begins. Hermione's knack for logic later enables the trio to solve a puzzle essential to retrieving the Sorcerer's Stone, and she defeats the constrictive Devil's Snare plant by conjuring fire.
Hermione develops a crush on handsome new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart. During a morning confrontation between the Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams, a brawl nearly ensues after Draco Malfoy calls her a "Mudblood," but she does not know what the epithet means until Ron explains it to her at Hagrid's hut. She assembles the Polyjuice Potion needed for the trio to disguise themselves as Malfoy's housemates in order to collect information about the Heir of Slytherin who has reopened the Chamber of Secrets. However, she is unable to join Harry and Ron in the investigation after the hair she plucked from the robes of Slytherin student Millicent Bulstrode (whom Hermione is match up during Lockhart's ill-fated Duelling Club) turns out to be those of her cat, whose appearance she takes on in her human form; it takes several weeks for the effects to completely wear off. Hermione is Petrified by the basilisk after successfully identifying the creature through library research; though she lies incapacitated in the hospital wing, her information is crucial to Harry and Ron in their successful mission to solve the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets. Hermione is revived after Harry kills the basilisk, but she is devastated to learn that all end-of-year exams have been cancelled as a school treat
In her third year, Hermione gets a pet cat-Kneazle mix named Crookshanks, who habitually pursues Ron's pet rat, Scabbers. Before the start of term, Professor McGonagall secretly gives her a Time-Turner, a device which enables her to go back in time and handle her heavy class schedule. While filling in for Remus Lupin in one Defence Against the Dark Arts class, Professor Snape labels her "an insufferable know-it-all" and penalises Gryffindor after she speaks out of turn in her attempt to describe a werewolf. While Hermione correctly deduces Lupin's secret after completing Snape's homework assignment from the class, Crookshanks proves vital in exposing Scabbers as Peter Pettigrew, a friend of James and Lily Potter who revealed their whereabouts to Lord Voldemort the night of their murders, and was able to wrongly implicate Sirius Black (revealed to be Harry's godfather) in the Potters' deaths. The Time-Turner enables Hermione and Harry to rescue Sirius and the hippogriff Buckbeak.
Hermione is Bulgarian Quidditch prodigy Viktor Krum's date at the Yule Ball, much to a jealous Ron's disdain, looking unexpectedly pretty at the ball to boot. The proper pronunciation of her name (Her-my-oh-nee) is interjected into the plot when she teaches it to Krum; the best he can do is "Herm-own-ninny," but she has no problem with it. She later gets into a heated argument with Ron after he accuses her of "fraternising with the enemy" in reference to her friendship with Krum. Hermione also tirelessly campaigns for the rights of house-elves by forming the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare (SPEW), but she is the only vocal opponent of the enslavement of house-elves, as Ron vehemently reminds her, "They like being enslaved!" She supports Harry through the Triwizard Tournament, helping him prepare for each task. Near the end of the term, she stops fraudulent tabloid reporter and Animagus Rita Skeeter, who had published defamatory materials about Hermione, Harry, and Hagrid during the Triwizard Tournament, by holding her Animagus form (a beetle) captive in a jar.
Hermione becomes a Gryffindor prefect along with Ron, and befriends Luna Lovegood, but their friendship gets off to a rocky start after Hermione chastises Luna's father's publication: "The Quibbler's rubbish, everyone knows that." She also lambasts housemate Lavender Brown for believing the Daily Prophet's allegations of Harry fabricating stories of Voldemort's return. Later, with Luna's assistance, Hermione blackmails Rita Skeeter into interviewing Harry for an upcoming issue of The Quibbler. Attempts to ban the magazine from Hogwarts are futile as the story spreads quickly through the school. One turning point is when she conceives the idea of secretly teaching defensive magic to a small band of students in defiance of the Ministry of Magic's dictum to teach only the subject's basic principles. Hermione gets an unexpectedly huge response, and the group becomes the nascent Dumbledore's Army. She is involved in the battle in the Department of Mysteries and seriously injured, but makes a full recovery.
New Potions professor Horace Slughorn invites Hermione to join his Slug Club. She helps Ron retain his spot on the Gryffindor Quidditch team when she secretly jinxes Cormac McLaggen, causing him to miss his last save attempt during Keeper tryouts. Hermione's feelings for Ron continue to grow and she decides to make a move by inviting him to Slughorn's Christmas Party, but he romances Lavender instead in retaliation for Hermione having kissed Viktor Krum. She attempts to retaliate by dating McLaggen at the Christmas party, but her plan goes bust and she abandons him midway through the party. Ron and Hermione continually feud with each other until he suffers a bout of poisoning from tainted mead, which makes her realise that she may lose him forever and frightens her enough to reconcile with him. Ron and Hermione both vow to stay by Harry's side regardless of what happens.

Hermione sat there at the Gryffindor table just staring at her spoon. Staring at it, though not truly seeing it. She was thinking about Ron and wondering why it was taking Harry and him so long to come down to breakfast this morning. Hermione really wanted to tell Ron something this year, and wanted to tell him when they were alone. She had thought of going up to the boys dormitory this morning and waking Ron, but she knew if she had she may have accidentally woken up Harry as well and didn't want Harry to know what she had to say before Ron did. What she had to say concerned both her and Ron themselves. True she hoped Harry gave them his full support and blessings, but either way this was between herself and Ron. All last year, especially when she had to watch Ron snogging Lavendar Brown, she'd felt torn up inside, as if she'd been losing a part of herself. Even now a tear formed in her eye as she thought about it. Wiping it away quickly, she sighed softly and picked up her fork, softly playing with the chicken and potatoes on her plate. She just couldn't figure it out.
The entire time she had been at Hogwarts she and Ron had been on an endless rollercoaster of fighting, laughing, arguing, disagreements, and silent understandings. Though last year when Ron had been posioned and nearly died, Hermione had finally realized she loved him and didn't want to lose him at all. On the train home last year she and Ginny had talked about it privately between themselves when they could and Ginny had told her that she'd known of Hermione's love for Ron since their fourth year when Ron had tried asking Hermione to the Yule Ball. Hermione regretted now not waiting for Ron to ask her, but she'd been asked by Viktor Krum first and couldn't say no to him. The boy was a Triwizard Champion and had noticed she was a girl and a lady when Ron and Harry themselves refused to see it. No, she wasn't mad at herself for going with Viktor but she wished she had waited for Ron. Their fight after the ball had really upset her more than she let on, though in time she had gotten over it.
Sitting there, she thought about all this year held with having to take her O.W.L. examinations in June. In all honesty these examinations scared Hermione, and yet excited her at the same time. She knew how much weighed on the results of the exams as they determined your whole career and what jobs and salaries you could get for the rest of your life in the wizarding world. Thinking about it, her goal was to still take S.P.E.W a lot farther because she still refused to believe that house elves naturally wanted to be oppressed and used like slaves, even if they were being used as such by wizards. Shaking her head, she put down her fork and reached into her schoolbag which lay beside her on the bench. Pulling out a book, she opened it and began to scan it hopefully, looking for a possible niche or loophole that would later help her when she planned to take the Ministry of Magic by storm and fight for the equal rights of all magical creatures, starting with house elves.
